Possum Point Players presents I REMEMBER MAMA

The Possum Point Players are readying the modern, memorable show I Remember Mama for audiences in June. A comedy, written by John Van Druten, based on Kathryn Forbes’ book Mama’s Bank Account, jumped from the Broadway stage, to the silver screen, and then on to the television screen as one of TV’s first broadcast shows. It has been described as "one of the most heartwarming depictions of American life yet to reach the stage."

Tickets are $18 for adults, $17 for students and seniors, and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are now on sale online at www.possumpointplayers.org and also by phone at 302-856-4560.

Strawberry Extravaganza

The Lewes Historical Society will be hosting a Strawberry Festival on June 9.  The day will begin with a Strawberry themed Historic Lewes Farmers Market from 8:00am-12:00pm at the Historic Complex at 110 Shipcarpenter Street in historic Lewes. Not only will the Farmers Market vendors feature strawberry themed goodies, but folks can also enjoy strawberry product cooking demonstrations and face painting. Don't miss this fun community event! The Strawberry Festival is $7 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Ticket Preregistration is Required: 302-645-7670 (ext. 10). This 5K event is in memory of Kelly J. Fritchman, wife of Todd Fritchman, captain of the Dewey Beach Patrol, who passed away from complications due to cystic fibrosis. The 5K benefits the swimming scholarship that has been established by her family at the University of Delaware. We are including a 'kiddie k' to make this a family event for all. The Lewes Historical Society invites you to our summer Craft Fair being held on July 14, from 9am until 4 pm at the Historical Complex at Second & Shipcarpenter Streets, just one block from downtown Lewes. Admission will be $5.00 per person, children under 12 are free. This event benefits educational and preservation programs at The Lewes Historical Society. Lewes is an exciting destination for craft buyers with its wealth of historical sites, museums, unique shops, restaurants and pristine beaches. The Historic Complex consists of numerous historic buildings that are open to the public. These houses and museums, surrounded by trees and gardens provide a beautiful backdrop for the Craft Fair. Come spend the day and have lunch at the beautiful grounds of the shaded Historic Complex. Ample parking is available for both visitors and exhibitors.
